The HELO Plus is a compact device that can be used on any network to input, encode, record, and stream your HD video production for live events, education, sports, news, and just about any media broadcast environment. The updated and redesigned HELO Plus adds a few features to the original HELO, including two simultaneous streaming destinations, Picture-in-Picture streaming and recording, higher data-rate support up to 20 Mb/s, and SRT compatibility.
Input and Encoding
The HELO Plus provides 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs that support up to 1080p60 video from your cameras, switchers, and other devices, and it can also input analog audio via its 3.5mm jack. It can then encode the video and embedded audio into H.264/MPEG-4 / embedded AAC-LC streams for streaming or recording, and it can even output analog stereo audio to speakers or a separate sound system. Picture-in-Picture is supported using multiple inputs and outputting that PiP program to your stream or recording. It can also input user graphics for AV-Mute to preface your live feeds.
Streaming
The HELO Plus can stream high-quality H.264 video to any streaming service that supports RTP/UDP, RTSP/RTMP, HLS, and Unicast, and it supports SRT protocol for secure streaming. It also allows you to stream to two destinations at the same time, so you can produce a worry-free redundant livestream. It provides numerous data rates to choose from, depending on your network quality, ranging from 100 kb/s to 20 Mb/s.
Recording
While you are streaming your production, the HELO Plus also allows you to record your H.264/MPEG-4 streams simultaneously. It features a built-in SD slot for SD/SDHC/SDXC cards and a USB Type-A port for external USB 2.0 or 3.1 Gen 1 drive recording, providing ample recording possibilities for your streams.
It is easy to configure and control the HELO Plus using its built-in web GUI, and the GUI also provides a web-based video preview. A built-in API allows you to integrate your own remote software to extend its compatibility with your broadcast environment. The unit features quick buttons on the front that allow you to stream or record with one touch, and it has audio meter LEDs to monitor the audio levels.
